I’M A MAN OF CONVICTION, I TAKE FULL CONTROL — Fani-Kayode Exonerates Grace Bent From Family Feud

Published

… Warns Precious Chikwendu to desist from alleging falsehood on the ex-Senator

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Grace Folashade Bent, has been exonerated from a family feud involving a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.

Fani-Kayode is currently in court with his estranged wife, Precious Chikwendu, who accused Senator Grace of intimation, harassment and being responsible for her inability to have access to her four kids produced by marriage to the former Minister.

But Fani-Kayode has absolved the former Adamawa South Senator, Grace Bent, from the allegations against her by some bloggers on social media, saying she has no hand in his family feud.

In a statement signed by a counsel to Chief Fani-Kayode, Ibikunle Ayodeji, titled; “To Whom It May Concern: Savage Posts On The Well Respected Senator Grace Bent and Her Family,” he said Mrs Bent does not dabble into the home affairs of Fani-Kayode and she has no power to do so.

“We are solicitors to Chief Femi Fani-Kayode. Our attention has been drawn to a series of posts making rounds on the internet.

“The said posts heavily denigrate the well-respected Senator Grace Bent and her entire household.

“The deep-rooted animosity which reflects in the post, can be easily connected to her association with Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.

“A response to the post, which is full of cunningly devised fables, is not necessary at this time.

“For the record, however, there is a need to reassert the point that,  Senator Grace Bent does not dabble into the home affairs of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and she has no power to do so. Senator Grace Bent is a mother and grandmother and she has her family to take care of,” Barrister Ayodeji said.

He added that regardless of their political association, Senator Grace Bent does not meddle in the private affairs of Fani-Kayode, neither does she volunteer any advice on how he should run his family business.

“Chief Femi Fani-Kayode is a man of conviction and he takes full control of what goes on around him and what happens in his family and household.

“No one can dictate to him, tell him what to do or manipulate him and neither has Senator Grace Bent or any member of her family tried to do so.

“It is unfortunate that the Bent family is being attacked by persons with unknown pedigrees and a disillusioned mindset.

“The vicious and libellous slander and falsehood levelled against Senator Bent’s daughter, Jackie B, is particularly repugnant and disgraceful.

“This is a well-brought-up and decent young lady who is a well-respected public figure and celebrity in her own right and who has achieved so much at such an early age.

“Senator Bent and her husband, Chief Jackson Bent, who is a highly respected retired Army officer and who has served our nation diligently and selflessly, are worthy of double honour and our client will not cease to accord them same, just like every other well-meaning Nigerian.

“In the light of the above, it is important that our client should clear the air on the savage posts, which are not only distracting but also intended to muddle the waters.

“The Bents are decent, loving, honourable and law-abiding people who should not be subjected to the kind of wickedness that we are witnessing,” he stated.

OKWU OTO EKENE EZE: INTERNET SET ON FIRE AS PETE EDECHIE ‘CASUALLY’ SHAKES OONI OF IFE, STANDING

Published

on

Ooni and Edochie

Netizens on the micro-blogging website, Instagram, have disagreed over the viral video showing the moment the Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Enitan, was exchanging greetings with veteran Nollywood actors, Pete Edochie and Kanayo O. Kanayo.

In the video shared by Kanayo and Ooni on their verified Instagram handles, the actors had walked into the venue of Elizabeth Jack Rich’s 40th birthday party and they approached Ooni’s table to exchange pleasantries with him.

The duo delighted to see Ooni extended handshakes simultaneously and ended with the traditional and popular Igbo backhand handshakes.

Kanayo had captioned it, “Last night was awesome @peteedochie @babarex0 @chidimokeme and the very outstanding His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Enitan, Ooni of Ife.

The video posted on Wednesday had amassed over 20,000 likes and 1,141 comments on Kanayo’s page.

Meanwhile, dissatisfied with the action, some netizens disagreed have tagged it a mere ‘woke act’ while others believed it to be a normal thing among high-profile individuals.

A user, Maxwell said, “The blame is on the Ooni of Ife for going to that kind of place and for also accepting a handshake from people. I’m not against the Nollywood stars but they are supposed to bow before the stool of the king of Ife. if it was the former Ooni of Ife who could try this and even give him a handshake?”

Another user, Yinka Poyigi, said, “I visited different palaces in the east during the course or a project I was working on, and each time I want to greet the Igwe, I will ask to prostrate like an Omoluabi. Surprisingly, the Igwes always decline because it is not their tradition. The chiefs will gently ask me to stand up and greet, introduce myself and sit down.

“What a culture shock! But that’s their tradition, so before you walk with your heads instead of your legs, ask yourself certain questions. 1. Was Ooni in his palace sitting on his stool when this happened? 2. Are the people in question from the same culture? 3. Is Idobale (Porstrate) always a sign of genuine respect? 4. Is Ooni a king of the two veteran Actors? 5. Was this event in Ife? I understand that Ooni is a king to some kings in Yoruba land and even a recognised first-class king in Yoruba land and if I meet him anywhere…my chest will be on the floor.

“I don’t expect my Ibo brothers to do the same except when in his palace. When we travel around and experience different cultures, our exposure and ways of thinking will change,” he added.

Another user, Iamflappys, muttered, “If you don’t respect yourself, no one will. If the real and former king is on the seat, this nonsense will not happen. I respect the work and talent of the legend but if the king starts respecting the throne and acts like a king, this madness will not happen. If anything remove your cap.

In his opinion, a user, Noel Enomheonse, opined, “It looks like this king doesn’t know what his culture expects of him. I’m still thinking of that man in Nigeria who shake hands with the great Oba of Benin in that manner. Even the president and other world leaders bow before him. Sorry to say! Pete Edochie just disrespected the king.”

However, a user, Ugezujugezu, saw nothing wrong with the action, he even commended Edochie saying, “When you hear OKWU OTO EKENE EZE…….. now you understand it.”

Another user, Lincedochie said it is a gathering of elites.

[SCANDAL] EDUCATION MINISTER IMPREGNATES DEPUTY, CLAIMS IT’S WORKPLACE ACCIDENT

Published

Kazadi-and-Namasia

In a surprising admission, Tony Mwaba Kazadi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education, acknowledged having an unplanned pregnancy with Aminata Namasia.

Yet he said it was an accident at work.

In spite of the fact that they were both married, Namasia is claimed to have fallen in love with Kazadi after being appointed as the National Deputy Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education in Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde’s cabinet on April 12, 2021.

Namasia, however, was cited by a local newspaper, The Street Journal, as having refuted the story on her Twitter page, claiming that outside of her official and public duties, she has a life that must be respected by all; a right, she claimed, that is guaranteed to all Congolese by their constitution.

She argued that damaging her reputation shouldn’t be a practice that was condoned because it could jeopardise not only her relationships but also the reputations of her married male coworkers and their houses.

She said: “On the eve of the electoral contests scheduled for December of this year, political detractors can attack my opinions and political actions rather than opting for practices tending to smear my person.”

The tale was debunked by “a reliable Congolese” named Nugandu, who was quoted in The Street Journal, and claimed that it was all a part of the DRC’s political theatre

CATHOLIC PRIEST WHO FATHERED 12-YEAR-OLD DEFROCKED BY POPE

Munyeshyaka who had been working for nearly three decades as a clergyman in northern France, where he fled following the genocide in his homeland instructed to “avoid places where his previous status is known,” RT reports.

A Rwandan-born Catholic priest, Wenceslas Munyeshyaka, who fathered a 12-year-old child has now been expelled by Pope Francis.

Munyeshyaka who had been working for nearly three decades as a clergyman in northern France, where he fled following the genocide in his homeland instructed to “avoid places where his previous status is known,” RT reports.

Catholic outlet La Croix International reported on Thursday that the Pontiff’s decision to remove Wenceslas Munyeshyaka from the clerical state was dated March 23, and was announced on Monday.

According to the report, it was based on the priest’s admission that he fathered a child in 2010.

In a statement circulating online signed by the bishop of the diocese of Evreux, stated that Munyeshyaka “automatically loses all rights” associated with his ordination and is “excluded from the exercise of the sacred ministry.”

Bishop Christian Nourrichard said the priest’s removal is not “subject to any appeal” and begins with “immediate effect.”

Munyeshyaka, who was the head of a parish in the Evreux diocese, was suspended by the bishop in December 2021 after he reportedly admitted being the father of a 10-year-old boy “from an affair he had in Gisors.”

Ordained a priest in 1992, Munyeshyaka was accused in 1995 of participating in the genocide against the Tutsis in Rwanda, including the rape of women and executions at his church in Kigali. According to the United Nations, an estimated 800,000 people were massacred in the genocide, which lasted 100 days between April and July 1994.

French courts cleared Munyeshyaka of criminal charges in the 20-year case in 2015 due to a lack of substantial evidence.

Munyeshyaka’s dismissal “is not related” to the genocide allegations, and is based on the conclusion of an investigation relating to his suspension in 2021, the dioceses clarified, as reported by La Croix.
